The 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Final delivered a dramatic and unforgettable night as Eastern Conference champions New York Red Bulls II rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat Colorado Rapids 2, winners of the Western Conference, and claim their first league title.

Colorado controlled the early stages and took a 2–0 lead into halftime, striking through Billo Diop in the 34th minute and James Cameron just before the break. Red Bulls II flipped the match on its head after halftime, launching a furious comeback that stunned the record crowd of 9,095 at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Rafael Mosquera began the push with a goal in the 65th minute, and Roald Mitchell struck only two minutes later to level the match. Mosquera then buried a penalty in the 81st minute to complete the turnaround and send the Cup Final into a tense finish.

With the match tied 3–3 after regulation, the championship was decided from the penalty spot. New York remained composed, converting three times while their goalkeeper produced key stops to secure a 3–1 shootout win and the club’s first MLS NEXT Pro Cup. It is also Red Bulls II’s first trophy since winning the USL Championship in 2016.
