October 14, 2025 - Colombia vs. Canada (Men’s International Friendly)

In a match billed by the event organizers as “Un Partido con Aroma de Mundial” or “A Match with a World Cup Feel,” Colombia and Canada battled to a hard-earned 0–0 draw in a physical international friendly at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

Colombia controlled much of the early possession and dictated the tempo through the opening half hour, but Canada, led by captain Stephen Eustáquio, absorbed pressure well and gradually grew into the match. The game’s physical tone was also established early, with 38 fouls whistled overall, including 23 in the first half.

Colombia created the best chance of the first hour when Díaz broke free in the 57th minute and narrowly missed the net to our end. Canada’s attack, meanwhile, struggled for opportunities but had a brief surge late when Jonathan David finished off a flick from Jacob Shaffelburg in the 75th minute, only for the flag to go up for offside.

Colombia nearly stole the match at the death, as Rafael Santos Borré’s header in stoppage time struck the post before Canada scrambled clear to keep the clean sheet intact.

Colombia qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in September through CONMEBOL qualifiers while Canada is one of the three co-hosts next summer.
