October 27, 2024 - Brooklyn FC vs. Fort Lauderdale United FC (USL Super League)
In their first home day game of the season, Brooklyn FC delivered a dominant display at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium, earning a 3–1 win over Fort Lauderdale United FC; avenging their 1-0 loss to the Floridian side three weeks prior. The hosts nearly struck within seconds of kickoff when Dana Scheriff intercepted a loose pass and came close to finding the net seconds into the match.
Brooklyn’s breakthrough came in the 28th minute when Sam Kroeger curled in a stunning goal from the top of the box off a well-worked corner. Three minutes later, Mackenzie George darted into the box from a Sasha Pickard pass and squared it across goal, allowing Scheriff to tap in her second goal in as many starts.
Early in the second half, Brooklyn settled the contest as Brazilian youth international Luana Grabias outpaced her marker and played a ball to George, who unleashed a forceful finish; extending BKFC’s lead to 3–0. Fort Lauderdale grabbed a consolation goal around the 70th minute following a defensive lapse, but it did little to dent Brooklyn’s momentum.
The match was Brooklyn’s penultimate home match of the first portion of their first USL Super League season; ultimately defeating Spokane Zephyr FC on Halloween night. It was also the Misfits’ last BKFC match until May 2025.
